Heavy debris
Dumpster for concrete, dirt and brick
Breaking out a patio, a walkway or old steps fills a container with weight in a hurry. For heavy fill, smaller is usually right.

Why heavy loads go in small containers
A roll-off truck can only lift so much, and roads have weight limits. That's why many companies send a 10-yard container for concrete or soil, or ask you to fill a larger one only partway. Ask where the fill line is.
Many companies also want heavy loads clean: concrete only, or dirt only, with no trash mixed in. A clean load can go somewhere it will be crushed or reused.
Protecting the driveway
A container of concrete is heavy enough to crack an older or thin driveway. Ask for boards under the rails, and set the container where the slab is in good shape.
Load from the back toward the front so the weight spreads evenly, and keep the load level with the top edge.
Heavy debris questions
Can I mix concrete with other trash to fill the container?
Ask first. Many companies treat a mixed heavy load differently from a clean one.
Can the container sit on my lawn for a patio job?
A loaded heavy container sinks into soil and leaves ruts. A hard surface is safer for both.
Book the container while it's on your mind
Say what you're clearing out, where the dumpster can sit and which day suits you. By the end of the conversation you'll know the container, the delivery morning and what you'd pay.
